Climate
The Extremadura has a Mediterranean climate, however the summers are very hot, and the winters are mild. Precipitation is irregular, most of the rain falls in autumn and in the spring; after heavy rain falls the land turns into an ocean of flowers in the spring.
Our hotel locations
Located less than 3 hours by car to the southeast of Madrid Trujillo, Cáceres and Merida are ideal starting points for exploration trips of the Extremadura in all directions. On day trips on lonely roads through unique landscapes you can reach the nature park Monfragüe with the vulture rocks, the cloister of Guadalupe and Yuste, Medellín, the unique Vostell-Museum and many other destinations.
The cities themselves are very impressing with their remarkable history and will put you back into past centuries. Trujillo was home to Francisco Pizarro, the conqueror of Peru. Cáceres is part of the UNESCO world heritage with its completely preserved medieval center of the city and Merida is world famous for its rich relics of the roman past.
On resting days you can enjoy the peace and quiet of the very comfortable Meliá Boutique-Hotels.
Explore the main cultural sights and natural treasures of the Extremadura, a still largely ignored and forgotten region.
